Villa Piedra: 1909 Watchtower Estate Above Lake Como

Built in 1909 on the site of a medieval watchtower, Villa Piedra sits 300 meters above Pigra with one of the most uninterrupted views in Europe — the full sweep of Lake Como rolling out below, no neighbors in sight. The house was restored to exceptional standards across 13,250 sq ft of living space, then quietly stocked with the kind of details that don't show up in the listing photos: a private boat moored at the funicular base in Argegno, a chef preparing two meals a day, daily housekeeping, a 22-meter heated infinity pool, and a yoga and wellness room carved into the rock face with Technogym equipment and steam room.

There are 8 bedrooms across three floors, all with lake views, six of them ensuite. The top floor holds the master suite alongside the main living areas — two seating rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and two roof terraces. Throughout the house, balconies open onto the lake. An elevator connects all three floors and the basement.

The villa sleeps 14 adults comfortably (16 maximum with additional configuration). Pigra village is a short walk; Argegno is four minutes away via the cable car station 500 meters from the villa gates.
